What is 3D Mammography?
3D mammography is the standard in breast imaging care. This new technology
provides overall clearer images of dense breasts, making it easier for
doctors to dectect cancer earlier and provide quicker results to you.
Designed with your comfort in mind, our new 3D mammography unit features
rounded corners and flexible paddles, which are used to distribute compression
more evenly across the breast.
With 3D mammography, you are less likely to experience unnecessary callbacks
or further testing. If you are concerned about radiation exposure, our
Senographe Pristina™ mammography unit is the only approved 3D unit that delivers the same low
dose as 2D without compromising image quality.

What is AI?
ProFound AI™ is a high-performance, cancer detection technology built on artificial
intelligence (AI). It allows us to provide potentially lifesaving results
to you more quickly with increased rates of detection and fewer false
positives. The software helps our board certified radiologists save a
vast amount of time when reading a mammogram image and helps minimize errors.
What's the difference between 2D and 3D Mammograms?
You will only notice a few differences in 3D compared to 2D, although the
process will take a few seconds longer. 2D mammograms take images only
from the front and side which may create images with overlapping breast
tissue. 3D mammography provides images of the breast in “slices”
from many different angles. Combining AI with 3D technology creates a
three dimensional xray picture of the breast. This detects cancerous soft
tissue abnormalities with increased sensitivity.
