Helpful Resources for Families

The following resources are available for pregnant women and new mothers, including those who are breastfeeding.

Partners for Healthy Babies connects moms to pregnancy resources, services and information. Call 1-800-251-BABY (2229).

Nurse Family Partnership provides home visiting services from a nurse to support first-time moms throughout pregnancy and until baby’s second birthday. Call 1-800-251-BABY (2229) for more information.

Louisiana Breastfeeding Coalition provides breastfeeding information and resources for mothers, families and communities.

Louisiana WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children under 5 years old. It provides nutritional services, breastfeeding support and supplemental food. WIC will schedule a clinic visit as soon as possible after delivery to breastfeeding moms and their infants to provide timely breastfeeding support.
