We need to protect our skin from the sun year-round, but it’s especially
important during summer between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Use sunscreen with a Sun Protective Factor (SPF) of 15 or higher that offers
UVA and UVB protection from the sun's harmful rays.
- Reapply sunscreen if you stay out in the sun for more than 2 hours and
after you swim or do things that make you sweat.
- Wear a hat with a wide brim to shade your face, head, ears and neck.
- Wear UVA/UVB-rated sunglasses to protect your eyes.
- Spend time in the shade.
Remember that the best way to protect your skin is to use sunscreen or
wear protective clothing.
