“I recently observed CRNA Judy selflessly helping a gentleman confined
to a scooter in our cafeteria. Because of the way she was caring for him,
I thought he was a family member at first. Carrying his tray, she guided
him through the food line as he made his selections, making sure he got
a drink, utensils and condiments. After he paid for his meal, she carried
his tray to the table and laid out his meal for him. She then helped him
transfer from the scooter to the table, taking care to position his oxygen
tank so he could sit in the chair. It was at this point that I realized
that he was not a family member, but a visitor whom she noticed needed
help. My point is that Judy took the time to treat this gentleman like
a family member, and I am certain it made his day. It made me proud to
know she probably treats all of her patients like this. She may have been
having a stressful day, but that gentleman never knew it. Please let her
know that the patients are not the only ones who appreciate her kindness.”
