Dr. Tony Dennis to Talk about Obstructive Sleep Apnea Treatment at AWAKE

Snoring can be more than just annoying. It may be symptom of a serious health condition called Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). People with OSA stop breathing again and again during sleep. These pauses in breathing can last 10 to 90 seconds and may happen hundreds of times a night. OSA is the most common form of sleep apnea and is caused by blockages or narrowing in the nose, mouth or throat.

You can find out how OSA is diagnosed and treated at the October meeting of the AWAKE Support Group. ENT D’Antoni “Tony” Dennis, MD, of North Oaks Physician Group will lead the free meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center in Hammond. Registration is not required, and attendees are welcome to bring their C--PAP for a free pressure check.

AWAKE, which stands for Alert Well And Keeping Energetic, is a nationally recognized support group for individuals with any type of sleep disorder and their family and friends. North Oaks Sleep Disorders Center, which is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, sponsors the quarterly meetings.

The E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center is located within North Oaks Diagnostic Center at 15837 Paul Vega, MD, Drive in Hammond.
