The North Oaks Health System Board of Commissioners has named A.J. Bodker
and Ann Carruth, DNS, RN as officers for 2014. Bodker leads the Board
as Chairman with Carruth as Vice Chairman.
Mr. Bodker, a Ponchatoula native, has served on the North Oaks Board of
Commissioners for 10 years. He was initially nominated to the Board by
the Ponchatoula Rotary Club and appointed by the Tangipahoa Parish Council
in December of 2003, with a January 1, 2004 effective date. He was reappointed
for a second six-year term in 2010 and served as Vice Chairman until 2013.
He also has served as Chairman of Buildings and Grounds and the Board
designee to the Compliance Committee. He was an educator and principal
at Ponchatoula High School for 35 years. After retiring, he was a supervisor
of student teachers at Southeastern Louisiana University for 11 years.
“I am honored to serve the North Oaks Health System,” affirms
Bodker. “I have seen North Oaks rise from a small town hospital
to a nationally respected health system, and am privileged to represent
the citizens of Tangipahoa Parish and surrounding areas on the Board of
Commissioners, and help guide the facility as it strives to meet the health
care needs of our community.”
Dr. Carruth, a resident of Hammond, has fulfilled the unexpired term of
Dr. Eleanor Wells on the Board since 2012. Dr. Carruth is Dean of the
College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Southeastern Louisiana University,
and has served in various teaching and administrative positions at the
University since 1990. She is a member of the American Nurses Association,
American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the Tangipahoa District Nurses
Association (serving as President from 2007-2009), Northshore Healthcare
Alliance and the Southern Nursing Research Society.

growth of North Oaks Health System,” asserts Carruth. “I am
honored to serve our community in this vital role.”
Serving on the North Oaks Board of Commissioners in addition to Bodker
and Carruth are Blake Daniels of Ponchatoula and Ron Macaluso and Guy
Recotta of Hammond.
