North Oaks Walk-In Clinics Can Help You Beat the Flu with a "Little Stick"

North Oaks Walk-in Clinics make it convenient for you to beat the flu with a “little stick” with no appointments needed, early morning weekday hours and locations in Hammond, Ponchatoula and Walker.

Flu shots are offered for adults and children, age 3 and up. North Oaks is using the quadrivalent vaccine, which offers the maximum protection available against the four strains of flu virus that are expected to be most common this year: two influenza A viruses (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B viruses. This vaccine is both preservative- and latex-free. The cost is $38 and cash, checks, credit cards and most health insurance plans are accepted. Getting vaccinated each year is the single best way to protect against the flu virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Individuals with chronic medical conditions like asthma, diabetes and lung disease are at greater risk of getting the flu and should be vaccinated. Vaccination also is highly recommended for pregnant women and those who live with or care for high-risk individuals.
