North Oaks Sports Medicine and
North Oaks Physician Group’s orthopaedic surgeons have selected Lydia Pevey of Ponchatoula High School, Joshua Ethan Wallace
of Loranger High School, Lacy Loupe of Maurepas High School and Reeves
Blankenship of Springfield High School as
“Student-Athletes of the Month” for November 2015.
Lydia Pevey, 16, is a junior student and third-year cross country team
stand-out at Ponchatoula High School. The daughter of Jerri and Dennis
Pevey, she maintains a 3.9 GPA and recently led the Cross Country team
to a fourth-place finish in district and twelfth-place finish in state.
Pevey’s coach and teacher Jennifer Drake shares, “Lydia is
a positive role model for her teammates and peers on and off campus. She
leads in the right direction and strives hard to maintain a positive attitude
and team environment.”
Pevey belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club and National
Honor Society. She also runs track and plays basketball for the Lady Greenwave.

Seventeen-year-old senior Joshua Ethan Wallace attends Loranger High School,
where he maintains a 3.5 GPA and has played football for the Wolves for 4 years.
Loranger High School Head Football Coach Sam Messina notes that for the
2015 season, the defensive lineman racked up 55 tackles, 3 sacks and 1
fumble recovery.
Off the football field, Wallace belongs to the Spanish Club and gives of
his time to help mentor elementary students. He is the grandson of Karen
and Mark Wallace.

Lacy Loupe is a 17-year-old senior at Maurepas High School with a 3.9 GPA.
She has played basketball for the Lady Wolves for 6 years—from seventh
to twelfth grade. As a guard, she is averaging 13 points/game, 6 rebounds,
5 assists and 5 steals this season.
Loupe’s reputation for offering encouraging words to her fellow classmates
and teammates and volunteering to help out with younger students has earned
her respect as a positive role model, according to Head Basketball Coach
Brittany Lauzervich.
She belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Beta Club. Her
parents are Patrick and Tracy Loupe.

Reeves Blankenship, a 17-year-old junior at Springfield High School, maintains
a 4.0 GPA and is long snapper and center for the Bulldogs football team.
He is recognized as the top high school long snapper in Louisiana and
is ranked fifty-sixth in the country.
The son of Janet and Dane Blankenship, he earned the school’s Math
and Physical Science Award in his sophomore year and is serving as junior
class president this year. He participates in the school’s daily
morning broadcasts and assists with livestreaming of athletic events.
Bulldogs Athletic Director and Football Coach Ryan Serpas also notes that
Blankenship is actively involved in Community Church of Springfield. He
belongs to the youth group and helps livestream church services every
Wednesday and Sunday.

From September 2015 to April 2016, North Oaks Sports Medicine staff and
North Oaks Physician Group orthopaedic surgeons will choose male and female
Student-Athletes of the Month from both Tangipahoa and Livingston Parishes.
Honorees must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, excel in athletic competition,
participate in school and community organizations, and respect coaches,
teammates, officials, teachers and their peers. In May 2016, male and
female “Student-Athletes of the Year” will be selected from
all the monthly honorees for both parishes.
Nominations are accepted from coaches, athletic directors, principals and
North Oaks Sports Medicine athletic trainers.
