Intensive Care Unit Staff Nurse Robin, RN, Receives Nurse Excellence Award

Intensive Care Unit Staff Nurse Robin, RN, has been honored with the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award.

Robin earned her associate degree in Nursing from Mobile Infirmary at Mobile College, now University of Mobile, in Alabama. She joined the North Oaks team in February 1989 as an ICU Staff Nurse. She transferred to the Telemetry Unit in July 2012, where she was a Charge Nurse. In May 2015, she returned to the ICU.

“Robin is an excellent nurse. She fosters best practice in nursing care, interpersonal relationships, teamwork and positive patient outcomes,” shares Telemetry Unit West and Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Unit Manager Britanie Breland.

Intensive Care Unit Manager Charles Abrams, Robin’s new supervisor, agrees.

“Since Robin’s transfer to ICU, she has been faced every day with very challenging situations and has excelled at patient care,” he adds. “She has received compliments from patients, family members and coworkers. She has a great attitude and is a very welcome addition to our team.”

A native of Fairhope, Ala., Robin is a Ponchatoula resident. She enjoys spending time in her butterfly garden, riding horses and working on her house. She is the mother of three adult daughters, Bridget Powell and Jordan and Michaila Whittington.

“I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families.” – Robin, RN
