Staff RN Sarah Receives Nurse Excellence Award

Staff RN Sarah has been honored with the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award.

"Nursing gives me the opportunity to give back every day,” Sarah shares.

Sarah joined the North Oaks team as a Telemetry Unit Staff Nurse in 2015. She also helps mentor new staff members as a Preceptor.

Born at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, California, Sarah lives in Ponchatoula with her dog, Larry.

She is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University’s School of Nursing.

At age 13, Sarah decided that she wanted to pursue a nursing career. The nurses who cared for her father at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, after his last deployment inspired her choice. “They seemed like miracle workers to me,” she explains.

Away from work, Sarah enjoys boating on the river with her family, road trips with her boyfriend, Zach, and running.
"Sarah is the nurse you want to take care of you. She has it all — great communication skills, compassion, kindness, commitment and expertise," affirms Telemetry West Nursing Unit Manager Britanie Breland, RN, BSN.
