Medical Intensive Care Unit Charge Nurse Chelsey has received the North
Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for September 2017.
Chelsey first joined the Medical Intensive Care Unit team in 2012 as a
Staff Nurse. She was promoted to Charge Nurse this year.
"It's important to treat the whole person -- not just his or her
physical symptoms," Chelsey shares.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana
University. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in
Nursing at Southeastern to become a Nurse Practitioner.
Chelsey lives in Clinton with her husband John David and their 21-month-old
daughter, Savannah Kate.
Outside of work and studying, Chelsey enjoys family time – especially
caring for her daughter.
Chelsey notes that her mother’s career as a nurse inspired her own.
Professionally, she belongs to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
“Our patients and the entire hospital team benefit from her leadership
and helpfulness," affirms Clinical Nurse Manager Charles Abrams.
"She is dedicated to providing Medical Intensive Care Unit patients
with the best possible care and experience. Her genuine personality stands
out."
