Surgery Center Staff RN Sheryl has received the North Oaks Health System
Nurse Excellence Award for September 2016.
“I aim to lessen the anxiety my patients and their loved ones may
experience by providing compassionate, safe, quality care,” Sheryl shares.
In October 2009, Sheryl became a Medicine Unit staff registered nurse at
North Oaks. In 2011, she became a registered nurse circulator in the Operating
Room and then transferred to the outpatient Surgery Center in May 2015
to broaden her skills in the care of patients before and after surgery.
She earned bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Nursing
from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Sheryl is a proud U.S. Army wife to Scott. They
make their home in Hammond with their sons Josh, 18, and Gunner, 16, and
four dogs—Rex, Lola, Noelle and Mia.
When she’s not cheering on her sons at their football, baseball and
basketball games, she can be found shopping, reading or watching movies
(especially the Harry Potter series).
“The way that Sheryl delivers care is impressive. She is always willing
to lend a hand, and her warm smile and calming manner immediately puts
patients at ease,” affirms Beverly Caldwell, North Oaks Surgery Center Manager.
