In February 2017, Fay Lavelle Cannon suddenly became seriously ill. Her husband brought her to the Emergency Room at North Oaks Medical Center, where she was admitted for treatment.

Her ER visit was a blur, but as she recovered during her 10-day stay, she noted the "loving care" she received from the staff.

She wanted to acknowledge the dedication and empathy of each by writing a letter of appreciation.
