Telemetry Unit Staff Nurse Karnesha Receives North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for August 2017

Telemetry Unit Staff Nurse Karnesha has received the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for August 2017.

Karnesha first belonged to the Telemetry Unit team of Staff Nurses from February 2013 to December 2014. After a brief hiatus, she returned to the Telemetry Unit as a Staff Nurse in May 2015 and now assists as a Relief Charge Nurse and mentor for new staff.

“Every day is a new opportunity to care for and educate my patients and make new friends along the way," Karnesha shares.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Grambling State University in Grambling.

Karnesha lives in her hometown of Hammond and values time spent with her husband Rickey and their 18-month-old daughter, Karis.

As pastimes, Karnesha loves live music, theater and good food. She also enjoys reading, watching movies and gardening.

“Karnesha is an exceptionally caring nurse and the true definition of a team player," affirms Clinical Nurse Manager Jesse Donahue. "Her coworkers love her willingness to help, and patients compliment her by name.”
