Patient Safety Nurse Laura has received the North Oaks Health System Nurse
Excellence Award for July 2017.
"I enjoy working with others to make care safe for our patients,"
Laura shares.
Laura joined the North Oaks Medicine Unit team in 2003. Over the next 14
years, she served in a variety of roles, including Medicine Unit Staff
Nurse and Charge Nurse, Flex-Ability Nurse, Care Manager and Case Management
Manager. She became a Patient Safety Nurse in 2014.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing through Southeastern Louisiana
University.
Born in Denver, Colorado, Laura lives in Hammond with her 11-year-old daughter,
Gabrielle, whom she loves to watch play soccer.
Laura is a member of the Serve Team at Eagle Heights Church in Tickfaw.
She is Vice President of the Tangipahoa District Nurses Association and
also belongs to the American Nurses Association.

delivery as a top priority for our team," affirms Rachel Artigues,
Performance Management Director. "If I needed nursing care, she would
be at the top of my list!"
