Laboratory Director Steven has received North Oaks Health System's
Leader of the Month Award for May 2018.
Steven joined the North Oaks team as Laboratory Director in 2016.
"Making sure our laboratory professionals have the resources to provide
leading-edge services to our patients and providers is what improving
lives means to me," shares Steven.
Steven completed a doctorate in Health Systems Management through Tulane
University in New Orleans. He earned a master’s degree in Biochemistry
and Molecular Biology from Louisiana State University Health Sciences
Center in New Orleans and a master’s degree in International Business
from the University of Brussels in Belgium. He also holds a bachelor’s
degree in Chemistry from the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
Born in Lier, Belgium, Steven lives in Mandeville. He enjoys family time
with his 5-year-old son, Alexander, and going to the gym. He played ice
hockey for 20 years and competed on the Belgian national team.
Professionally, Steven belongs to the American College of Healthcare Executives,
American Association for Clinical Chemistry and American Association for
the Advancement of Science. He also is an adjunct professor at Tulane
University’s School of Public Health.
