Social Worker Stacy has received the North Oaks Health System Employee
of the Month Award for September 2018.
"Getting to know each of my patients and their loved ones helps me
better understand potential needs upon discharge from the hospital,"
shares Stacy.
North Oaks has always been a part of Stacy’s life. It’s where
she was born, attended daycare and served as a Junior Volunteer. In 1991
and fresh out of high school, she became a Unit Secretary, following in
the footsteps of her mother Pam and grandmother Esther, who each worked
30 years for the health system. Short of a 1-year break from 2002 to 2003,
Stacy gained experience working with patients in a variety of capacities
over the past 27 years. She served as a Clinic Receptionist, Admissions
Clerk, Patient Representative, Patient Account Representative and Patient
Financial Counselor before ultimately becoming a Social Worker in 2015.
Stacy earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work through Southeastern
Louisiana University. Stacy and her husband John live in Hammond and have
two children – 22-year-old Nathan and 15-year-old Natalie.
Stacy values time with family and friends and enjoys gardening, crafting,
reading and going to sporting events.
She belongs to the American Case Management Association and Natalbany Baptist Church.
“Social work is not just ‘a job’ to Stacy," affirms
Jason Lindsey, Case Management Director. "She understands the importance
of discharge plans that meet each patient’s social needs in a way
that promotes better health and outcomes. Even in challenging situations,
Stacy perseveres.”
