Nursing Operations Manager Edna has received North Oaks Health System's
Leader of the Month Award for July 2018.
"Listening with a humble heart is important to leadership," shares Edna.
Edna joined North Oaks in 1991 as a Nurse Tech on the Telemetry Unit. She
went on to work for 12 years as a Telemetry Unit Staff Registered Nurse
and Charge Nurse before becoming Medicine Unit Manager. In 2016, she became
North Oaks Medical Center’s Nursing Operations Manager.
Edna earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana
University and a master’s degree in Nursing through the University
of Phoenix. She belongs to the American Nursing Association.
Edna and her husband John live in Hammond. They have four adult children:
Freeman, who is married to Miriam; Katrice; John Jr.; and Alexis. They
also have two grandchildren: John III and Freeman III.
As pastimes, Edna loves to crochet, take part in Bible studies and camp
with John. She also enjoys sporting events -- especially New Orleans Saints games.
“Edna is an enthusiastic leader," affirms Kirsten Riney, Vice
President of Patient Services. "She can often be found mentoring
staff members and generously giving of her time as a community volunteer.”
