Intermediate Care Unit Staff Registered Nurse Summer has received the North
Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for April 2019.
"Always listen with an open heart, and remember that each patient
is someone's 'person,'" shares Summer.
In 2015, Summer joined the Intermediate Care Unit team as a Nurse Tech.
After graduating from Our Lady of the Lake College School of Nursing in
2016, she was promoted to Staff Registered Nurse. She loves the spirit
of teamwork shared amongst her fellow nurses and providers.
Summer lives in Springfield with her husband Chris and their 2-year-old
son, Silas.
Summer loves the outdoors and is happiest when she is enjoying it with
Silas, Chris and their dog, Lady Belle, or boating on the river.

Gray, recently praised her excellence in nursing care and assertiveness
for speaking up for her patients. Her thorough assessments and extensive
knowledge of patient histories ensures appropriate interventions and helps
contribute to great patient outcomes.”
