Nurse Practitioner Christine "Alexis" Dominguez Honored as "Future 40 Under 40" Professional to Watch

Nurse Practitioner Christine "Alexis" Dominguez was recently recognized by The Daily Star as a “Future 40 Under 40” professional to watch.

Dominguez joined the North Oaks team in 2011 as a Staff Registered Nurse and has been a Family Nurse Practitioner with North Oaks Family Medicine in Hammond since 2015. She has served on several committees targeted at helping to improve patient care at North Oaks, including: the Employee Engagement Council, Clinical Quality and Innovations Committee, Nursing Shared Governance Council and Midlevel Provider Committee.

Volunteering as a provider for North Oaks Sports Medicine's Physical Day each year is one of her favorite activities. She shares that when she was an athlete during her elementary and high school years she was afforded the opportunity to participate in Physical Day and knew that she wanted to give back and support it one day.

Her goal as a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner is to meet the needs of her patients with individualized care to ensure a healthy community. She continues to grow as a medical professional through many hours of continuing education classes and conferences.

Dominguez is a past Louisiana Strawberry Queen and Tangipahoa Parish Fair Queen. While holding these titles, she traveled across Louisiana to promote Tangipahoa parish, the strawberry as our state fruit and local farmers.

Professionally, Dominguez belongs to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International nursing honor society. She also is active in the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association, Hammond Area Alumnae Chapter of Phi Mu Fraternity, Coastal Conservation Association and Ducks Unlimited.
