She joined the North Oaks team as a Market Strategist/Business Development Representative in 2012, and she hasn’t looked back. She was promoted to Marketing Director in 2014.

In May 2017, Johnson was recognized as North Oaks Leader of the Month. And in November 2018, shereceived the Louisiana Society of Hospital Public Relations & Marketing constituency group’s Golden Pelican Awards for “Marketer of the Year” for the state.

Johnson directs a department that functions as an in-house ad agency and communications firm for the health system. With boundless work ethic, creativity and resourcefulness, she leads a team of experts in communications, videography and web design, marketing, graphic design and print and production. Under her leadership, North Oaks has deftly handled advances in social media, targeted marketing strategies and community engagement.

Johnson's contributions to our community don’t end with North Oaks. She is a past president of the Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Association (TPW), an organization she has nurtured through various leadership roles for the last several years. This year, she was the closing speaker at the organization’s 2019 Women Mean Business Conference, and last year, she served as one of two keynote speakers for the conference. With topics such as “How to Reconnect with Yourself and Prosper” and "Provoking Tips for Taking Action," she is a gifted motivational speaker.

“Shantel is a dynamic, young woman with a calm, confident countenance and a generous spirit, and collaborating with her is a joy. An excellent manager and marketer, her passion for mentoring future leaders at North Oaks and the community through her work with TPW makes her even more special,” shares Tracy Randazzo, Vice President for Strategy & Outreach.
