Dear North Oaks Family,
It is with deep sorrow that I share with you the sudden passing this past
Saturday, Sept. 28 of Dr. Bob Barsley, a member of our Board of Commissioners.
Dr. Barsley was born and raised in the Hammond/Ponchatoula area and was
deeply committed throughout his life and distinguished career to making
a difference in his community. Since 2016, we have been fortunate to benefit
from his tutelage on our Board of Commissioners, during which time he
participated on the Building Committee and, more recently, the Strategy
& Outreach Committee for which he was chairman. His unique insights
as both an attorney and medical professional, coupled with his extensive
knowledge of national health care policy, proved invaluable in the boardroom
and to our Leadership.
We are honored and humbled that North Oaks Health System is now part of
his legacy and forever grateful to him for sharing his zeal for both improving
lives and health care quality with us.
The family will host a memorial service on October 27, 2019 at Ponchatoula
Junior High School. More information about his life, legacy and memorial
service can be found here:

In the difficult days ahead, please join me in keeping his loved ones --
especially his wife Gwen and daughter Emily -- in your thoughts and prayers.
