Patient Pricing Information

It is North Oaks Health System's policy to make resources available to help patients understand their potential financial liability for services provided at North Oaks Health System. Financial Counselors are available upon request to provide information about standard charges, help determine if patients qualify for Federal and State assistance and set up payment plans. This policy is in compliance with the Affordable Care Act, Section 2718 (e) of the Public Health Service Act.

"Hospital charges" are the prices set for services before any discounts are applied. Charges are based on the type of services provided and procedures performed. Charges can vary depending on the patient's medical condition; complications; the specific equipment, supplies and medications used to care for the patient; and the length of time the patient stayed in the hospital.

Patients with questions about their potential financial liability for health care services provided at North Oaks Health System are encouraged to call the Financial Assistance Center at (985) 230-2580. A designated staff member can provide price estimates which include facility charges, insurance coverage, insurance allowable and patient out-of-pocket cost. For patients without health insurance, North Oaks offers various discount programs to help patients meet their financial obligations.

In addition to the Patient Pricing Information Line, patients may request information about charges via U.S. Mail, email or in person.
