The North Oaks Dietetic Internship Mission
The mission of the program is to produce graduates prepared to be entry-level
Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who are committed to the profession
of dietetics and to providing safe, courteous, compassionate care that
improves the lives of patients.
Program Goal 1:
Produce graduates that are prepared for entry-level positions in Food Service
Management and/or Medical Nutrition Therapy that perform as members of
healthcare organizations with compassion, commitment, courtesy and excellent
communication.
ACEND required objectives must be evaluated annually using an average of
data from the previous three years.
Program Objectives for Goal 1:
- At least 80% percent of program interns complete program requirements within
18 months (150% of the program length).
- Of graduates who seek employment, 80% are employed in nutrition and dietetics
or related fields within 12 months of graduation.
- 100% of program graduates take the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian
nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.
- The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration
exam within one year of first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for
dietitian nutritionists is at least 80%.
- At least 90% of graduates who respond to a survey will agree that the program
prepared them for entry-level practice.
Program Goal 2:
Produce graduates who are proficient in communication and problem-solving
skills to achieve excellence in performance.
Program Objectives for Goal 2:
- At least 80% of employers who respond to a survey on program graduates
in their first year of employment will rate them as “above average”
in demonstrating proficient problem-solving skills for entry level practice.
- At least 80% of employers who respond to a survey on program graduates
in their first year of employment will rate them as “above average”
in communication skills for entry level practice.
- At least 80% of employers who respond to a survey on program graduates
in their first year of employment agree or strongly agree that graduates
were adequately prepared for entry-level practice.
