Surgical Services

There are many reasons to have surgery. Some operations can relieve or prevent pain. Others can reduce a symptom of a problem or improve how your body functions. Some surgeries are done to find out what’s causing a problem. Whatever the purpose, quality surgical care leads to fewer complications and – most importantly -- better outcomes and reduced costs. Our North Oaks Surgical Services family cares for your family and gives you the personal attention you deserve.

Urological Surgery

Urology involves the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the male and female urinary tracts, as well as male reproductive organs. When medication and other non-surgical treatments do not relieve symptoms, surgery is the recommended treatment for many conditions that affect the male reproductive organs and urinary tract organs. Some of these conditions include, among other things, prostate cancer, ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, bladder and kidney cancer and vesicoureteral reflux.

The da Vinci® Surgical System is being used by many surgeons worldwide for prostatectomy and other urologic procedures. It is a minimally invasive approach, using the latest in surgical and robotics technologies. Robotic surgery with the da Vinci system is ideal for both complex and delicate urologic surgeries. This includes prostatectomy, where the target site is not only tightly confined but also surrounded by nerves that affect urinary control and sexual function.
