North Oaks Primary Care Clinic in Livingston. New adult and pediatric patients, age 2 and older, are now being accepted.

A member of the North Oaks Health System team for 9 years, McIntyre comes
to North Oaks Primary Care Clinic in Livingston from the
North Oaks Medical Center Emergency Department, where she worked as a Nurse Practitioner for the past 2 years.
McIntyre earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a master’s
degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Southeastern Louisiana
University in Hammond. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse
Practitioners. Professionally, she is a member of both the American Association
of Nurse Practitioners and Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Nurse Practitioners are nationally certified, state-licensed medical professionals
who can practice independently.
They are known as “physician extenders” educated under the
nursing model, which emphasizes health promotion and education. Nurse
Practitioners are credentialed to manage the overall care of their patients,
diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications and provide
education to their patients on disease prevention and management.
