Southeastern Louisiana University Athletics and North Oaks Health System have agreed to extend their partnership through
the 2020-2021 athletic season whereby North Oaks continues to serve as the
official health care provider of Southeastern Athletics, SLU Director of Athletics Jay Artigues announced
on Wednesday.
North Oaks Health System and Southeastern Athletics have been long-time
partners, but an increased commitment from the largest community-based
health care organization on the Northshore will include the naming rights
on the court of the University Center, which is home to the Southeastern
men’s basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball programs.
“North Oaks has and continues to be a huge supporter of not only
Southeastern Athletics, but also the entire
University,” Artigues said. “North Oaks and Southeastern Athletics have
made a long-term commitment, and we are extremely happy about the future
of our partnership. We truly appreciate the support of the North Oaks
Board of Commissioners and its leadership team, led by President/Chief
Executive Officer James E. Cathey Jr. and Executive Vice President/Chief
Operating Officer Michele Sutton, and are grateful for all they and the
North Oaks staff do for our community.”
Cathey affirmed, “Southeastern is our University, and we are proud
to have been asked to renew our longstanding commitment of being the official
health care provider for athletics.”
SLU Lifetime Alumni member Michele Sutton added, “We love SLU and
have many staff and volunteers who have deep ties and allegiances to the
University. Athletics is just one of the many examples of the partnership
between our two entities. It is our honor to work with our University
to positively impact the quality of life of Louisiana citizens.”
