Health & Business Analytics Director Kevin Fussell was recently recognized by
The Daily Star
as a “Future 40 Under 40” professional to watch.
Fussell joined North Oaks in 2008 as a Programmer Analyst in Information
Technology, after earning a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
from Southeastern Louisiana University. In his role as Programming and
Reporting Supervisor, he led the systems integration and reporting teams
when North Oaks transitioned from paper medical records to Electronic
Health Records (EHR). In 2015, he transitioned to the Business Analytics
Department as Manager and was promoted to Director in 2017.
Over the course of Fussell's career at North Oaks, he has led or been
an integral part of many technology-based projects, which have improved
the efficiency of how work is achieved and care is delivered. As mentioned
above, he played a vital role in the implementation of North Oak’s EHR.
He also has assembled and directed a team of analysts who leverage a myriad
of complex data sets to support data-driven decision-making across the
system. He and his team have partnered with other North Oaks clinicians
in groundbreaking work in the field of predictive analytics, which helps
the health care team intervene before patients become at risk for serious
complications. His department’s innovative work has gained nation-wide
attention.
"As the business of health care becomes ever more complex, Kevin's
talents have become even more valuable to the health system," affirms
Chief Health Information Officer Herbert G. Robinson III, MD. "He
truly is a behind-the-scenes hero that helps North Oaks achieve its mission
of improving lives, every time and with every touch."
