Nurse Practitioner Christine "Alexis" Dominguez
was recently recognized by
The Daily Star
as a “Future 40 Under 40” professional to watch.
Dominguez joined the North Oaks team in 2011 as a Staff Registered Nurse
and has been a Family Nurse Practitioner with
North Oaks Family Medicine in Hammond since 2015. She has served on several committees targeted at helping to
improve patient care at North Oaks, including: the Employee Engagement
Council, Clinical Quality and Innovations Committee, Nursing Shared Governance
Council and Midlevel Provider Committee.
Volunteering as a provider for
North Oaks Sports Medicine's Physical Day each year is one of her favorite activities. She shares that
when she was an athlete during her elementary and high school years she
was afforded the opportunity to participate in Physical Day and knew that
she wanted to give back and support it one day.
Her goal as a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner is to meet the needs of
her patients with individualized care to ensure a healthy community. She
continues to grow as a medical professional through many hours of continuing
education classes and conferences.
Dominguez is a past Louisiana Strawberry Queen and Tangipahoa Parish Fair
Queen. While holding these titles, she traveled across Louisiana to promote
Tangipahoa parish, the strawberry as our state fruit and local farmers.
Professionally, Dominguez belongs to the American Association of Nurse
Practitioners, Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma
Theta Tau International nursing honor society. She also is active in the
Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association, Hammond Area Alumnae
Chapter of Phi Mu Fraternity, Coastal Conservation Association and Ducks
Unlimited.
