Control X-ray Technologist Jason has been honored with the North Oaks Health
System Employee of the Month Award for July 2019.
Jason joined the Diagnostics team in 1998 as a Radiology Assistant. He
became a Control X-ray Technologist on the night shift in 2000. He moved
to days in 2003.
"Lifting patients' spirits and helping them feel better is rewarding
to me," shares Jason.
His interest in Radiologic Technology as a career was sparked by an X-ray
Tech, who helped care for his father after a motor vehicle crash.
“The tech brought me in and let me watch him position my dad for
the X-rays and run the film,” Jason explains. “This really
peaked my interest in the field.”
He earned an associate degree in Biology from Southwest Mississippi Community
College in Summit, where he played baseball for the Bears. He went on
to graduate from
North Oaks School of Radiologic Technology. Jason also attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where he was a
General Studies student concentrating in Biology.
Jason lives in Franklinton with his wife Sharon and their sons –
Cade, 13; and Jaden, 10.
Jason’s time away from work is spent with his family and coaching
his sons in baseball and soccer. Fishing, hunting and mowing
a lot of grass are his other outdoors pursuits. He’s also got a great
Donald Duck impression and juggles!
“Jason’s natural leadership abilities and technical expertise
shine every day as he strives to achieve the best diagnostic images possible
for patient care," asserts Diagnostic Director Casey Alford. "His
selflessness, kindness and teamwork foster a positive environment for
the entire department and our patients.”
