October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to spread awareness
about the importance of finding breast cancer early at its most treatable
stages. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, breast
cancer is one of the most common kinds of cancer in women. About 1 in
8 women born today in the U.S. will get breast cancer at some point. The
good news is that most women can survive breast cancer if it’s found
and treated early. In this segment of Tangi 95.5 FM's "North
Oaks Health Notes,"
Dr. Laura Leonards, an Interventional Radiologist with
North Oaks Imaging Associates, talks about North Oaks Health System’s new additions to its arsenal
of breast cancer detection tools –
3D Mammography and Artificial Intelligence.
