[HAMMOND, La.]—North Oaks Rheumatology Clinic will open for patient care on Mon.,
Dec. 12 in Suite 400 of the new North Oaks Clinic Building, located at
15813 Paul Vega, MD, Drive on the North Oaks Medical Center campus in Hammond.
With the opening of this new clinic, Dr. Carl M. Gauthier Jr. will see
patients in both Hammond and in Satsuma, at North Oaks Multispecialty
Group (located within the health system’s Livingston Parish Medical
Complex.) Dr. Gauthier has studied with some of the nation’s leading
researchers and physicians in the field of rheumatology, and specializes
in the diagnosis and treatment of various forms of arthritis, including
osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. He also treats autoimmune disorders,
such as lupus and complex cases of fibromyalgia.
Communication is one of the cornerstones of Dr. Gauthier’s approach
to patient care. “I believe that by allowing my patients the time
to express their symptoms and concerns, I am more successful in obtaining
the proper diagnosis and treatment plan,” Dr. Gauthier comments.
Dr. Gauthier earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University
School of Medicine in New Orleans. He went on to complete a 3-year residency
program in general internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in rheumatology
