Comments: Kristen was chosen by her team as the varsity co-captain this year, so this shows that her teammates think she is a great leader. She has played all 4 years of high school and has never missed a practice and/or game. We participate in several community service projects as a team and she always arrives early and stays late to help without being asked. Kristen is hardworking, dedicated, and determined in everything she is involved in. Athletes like her only come around so often and I am going to miss her very much next year.

Comments: This past summer a large mass was discovered under Andrew's left eye. Andrew went to St. Jude to have the mass removed, but in spite of surgeries and being under constant doctor's care, he has still taken every opportunity to be involved with the football team over the rest of the summer and the beginning of school. Andrew has attended workouts he couldn't participate in, filmed practices, and made himself available and useful in countless ways. He clearly demonstrates that leadership and being part of a team means more than playing time. Players and coaches alike are inspired by his example.

Comments: Carly has been looked to as a leader long before she became a senior. She has a positive attitude and encourages her teammates to strive for success all of the time. You never hear a negative thing come out of her mouth. Regardless of how busy she is she will take the time to help anyone out. It can be with school work or younger players working on a particular skill. She does some many little things that often go unnoticed or thanked, but that never stops her from doing them. She doesn't do it for the recognition but because that is just the type of person she is. She does then not for the accolades but because it is what is best for the team.

Comments: Darilyn has been a great leader and player for our team. When she is not playing basketball, she spends her spare time working for Erdey's Sandwich Shop in Albany. Darilyn shows great leadership not only on the court but also in life by going to school full time, being an active member in her church, holding a job and even helping her older sister with the Albany Middle School girls basketball team.

                                Jessica Gregoire, Springfield High School
