Certified Optician Leslie has received the North Oaks Health System Employee
of the Month Award for November 2016.
"I love helping our patients choose eyewear that makes them feel confident,"
Leslie shares.
Leslie joined the Patient Access team in 2010 as an Insurance Verification
Assistant. In 2011, she transferred to the Physician Group as a Clinic
Insurance Assistant and became a Medical Office Specialist for the
urology clinic in 2012. She joined the
eye care clinic in March 2013 as an Ophthalmic Assistant, was promoted to Optician Trainee
in 2014, and became a Certified Optician through the American Board of
Opticianry in 2015.
She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with an associate
degree in Business Administration.
She lives in Ponchatoula with her rescue cat, Binx, and dog, Chico.
Leslie serves on the Ponchatoula Jaycees Board of Directors and Richard
Murphy Hospice Foundation’s Gala Committee. When she’s not
volunteering, she’s running in races and traveling.

and believes in making a difference. Recent examples of her selflessness
include driving a patient to an eye specialist during an emergency and
organizing a fundraiser for a friend with unexpected health concerns.
