Rehabilitation Services Speech Pathologist/Quality Assessment Liaison has
received the North Oaks Health System Employee of the Month Award for
June 2019.
Robin joined Rehabilitation Services in 2003 as a Speech Pathologist and
added the role of Quality Assessment Liaison in 2012.
"Every day is filled with opportunities to make a difference in someone’s
quality of life," shares Robin.
Since 2016, she has also been putting her expert knowledge of quality standards
to work in her off time as a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation
of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International).
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from
the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and a master’s
degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders through Southeastern Louisiana
University.
Robin lives in Denham Springs with her husband Dean and their son John
Curtis, 8.
Away from work, she cherishes time spent with her family and volunteers
with Live Oak Church as a choir member and a teacher for its Axis56 group
for girls.
"As a Speech Pathologist and Quality Assessment Liaison, Robin shines,"
asserts Rehabilitation Services Director Mac Barrient. "Her in-depth
knowledge of quality standards recently helped our Rehabilitation Hospital
achieve CARF International re-accreditation with zero recommendations
for improvement. This rare accomplishment is achieved by only 3% of facilities
surveyed worldwide.“
