Telemetry Unit Charge Nurse Jamie has received the North Oaks Health System
Nurse Excellence Award for July 2019.
Jamie joined the Telemetry team in 2011 as a Registered Nurse and was promoted
to Charge Nurse in 2014.
The impact a great nurse can have on patients was impressed upon her by
her own doctors’ visits and medical testing growing up.
“My love of caring for people and fascination with the medical field
are perfectly combined in my chosen career of nursing,” Jamie shares.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana
University.
Jamie lives in Walker with her husband Joey and their sons–Hunter,
12; and Jackson, 6.
Away from work, Jamie prioritizes family time and fishing with Joey. When
she needs to recharge, she likes to bake!
"Jamie is known as a ‘mother duck’ because of the way
she invests in the success of new nurses," affirms Telemetry Unit
Clinical Nurse Manager Jesse Donahue. "As a Charge Nurse, Jamie is
a source of comfort and strength to her peers. They especially appreciate
the time she takes to visit every patient, every night and how she promotes
teamwork to ensure each patient receives the best care and experience
possible.”
"I love helping new nurses build their confidence," Jamie shares.
