Do you have diabetes and trouble sleeping? You’re not alone. Sleep
problems are very common for those with diabetes.

North Oaks Diabetes Education’s next free group meeting, Tuesday, Oct. 8. The meeting will take place from
5 to 6 p.m. in the E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center’s Meeting
Room C, located within
North Oaks Diagnostic Center at 15837 Paul Vega, M.D., Drive. No provider referral or preregistration
is required.
Dr. Lauren Davis will lead the discussion. Davis is medical director of
North Oaks Sleep Disorders Center, which is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She will
explain how diabetes can affect sleep, including how lack of sleep can
impact blood sugar levels and lead to diabetes complications. Davis also
will talk about the common types of sleep problems and treatment options.
Time for participants to share their own experiences, tips, ideas and
concerns is planned, too.
North Oaks Diabetes Education offers group meetings on a monthly basis
to discuss insights on current health topics to help participants live
their healthiest lives. The meetings are free and open to those with diabetes,
their families and friends.
The American Diabetes Association recognizes North Oaks Diabetes Education
as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
