Charge Nurse Rebecca has received the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence
Award for December 2017.
"I love when I see former patients in public, and they remember me.
It means I made a difference in their life," Rebecca shares.
Rebecca joined the Pediatric Unit in 2008 as a Nurse Tech and moved to
the Medicine Unit in 2009. In 2010, she became a Medicine Unit Staff RN.
She transferred to the OB/GYN Unit in 2011 and was promoted to Charge
Nurse in 2014.
She earned an associate of science degree in Nursing from the Charity School
of Nursing at Delgado Community College in New Orleans.
Rebecca and her husband Jimmy live in Ponchatoula and have three grown
daughters, Kristen, Kayla and Kelsey. They also have four grandchildren
– Landon, 11; MaKayla, 9; Isabella, 8; and Maverick, 7.
Shopping at flea markets, antique stores and yard sales with Jimmy is one
of Rebecca’s favorite pastimes, and she counts the mountains as
a favorite travel destination.
“Rebecca is a dedicated advocate for exceptional patient experiences
and outcomes," affirms Kimberly Woods, Women & Children's
Services Director. "She works hard to provide her patients and their
families with a comfortable, safe and pleasant hospital stay. Her coworkers
appreciate her positive, upbeat attitude and willingness to lend a helping
hand.”
