Emergency Services Director Eric has received North Oaks Health System's Leader of the
Year Award for 2018.
Eric joined the North Oaks team as Emergency Services Director in 2016.
Planning to be a Physical Therapist, Eric earned a bachelor’s degree
with a concentration in Exercise Science from Southeastern Louisiana University.
While in college, he was working at a Baton Rouge cancer center. Watching
the nurses interact with patients so compassionately inspired him to change
careers. He reached his goal by enrolling in an accelerated program at
Our Lady of the Lake College, where he graduated with both associate and
bachelor’s degrees in Nursing.
"Being a cancer survivor drives my compassion for others and ability
to see things from a patient's perspective," Eric shares.
Eric lives in St. Amant with his wife Hacie and their daughters: Ellie,
6; Harper, 4; and Eva, 1. Together, they celebrate life and survivorship
each year at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Ascension Parish.
Eric also enjoys the outdoors, hunting and traveling.
Eric belongs to the Emergency Nurses Association and has re-enrolled in
Southeastern Louisiana University as a student in the Executive MBA Program.
In March 2019, the U.S. Department of Defense presented Eric with the
"Patriotic Employer Award" for being supportive of employees
who serve in the U.S. Army National Guard and Reserve.
“Eric is a man of great character and integrity," affirms Terri
Lewis, Vice President of Surgical and Emergency Services. "He’s
an industrious and reliable leader with an engaged team – as is
evidenced by the Emergency Department’s improved patient experience
scores and reduced wait times.”
