Nurse Navigator Elizabeth has received the North Oaks Health System Nurse
Excellence Award for January 2019.
"Every day is filled with opportunities to touch someone's life,"
shares Elizabeth.
Elizabeth began working at North Oaks in 2014 as an Interventional Radiology
Nurse with more than 20 years of previous nursing and management experience.
She was promoted to Interventional Radiology Supervisor in 2015 and became
a Nurse Navigator for the Wellness Clinic in 2016. Elizabeth loves that
her job enables her to advocate for others.
In 2018, she was recognized by her peers during National Nurses Week as
“Best Preceptor” for her work mentoring new nurses.
Originally from Shreveport and now a resident of Ponchatoula, Elizabeth
wanted a career where she could advocate for others and make a difference.
That’s what inspired her to earn her degree in Nursing from Northwestern
State University in Natchitoches.
A self-proclaimed “cheer mom” and “softball mom,”
Elizabeth is devoted to her three daughters – Hailea, 24; Allison,
14; and Natalie, 12 – and two grandchildren, 5-year-old Cassidy
and newborn Levi.
As hobbies, Elizabeth enjoys crafting and DIY projects.
"Elizabeth helps bring together the people and resources needed to
help our patients receive preventative health care and avoid hospital
stays when possible," affirms Population Health Director Nancy Turnage.
"She is gifted with helping our patients, their loved ones and our
clinic and hospital providers find common ground."
